np: the wallflowers - beautiful side of somewhere

hmm, just finished my daily dose of CNN. the reason i watch CNN in the afternoon instead of BBC for my daily news fix? 2 words. max foster. ok he's not THAT cute, but i love brit accents. besides, he's MUCH cuter than the old geezer that's the BBC anchor. and i like his partner monita rajpal.

anw, here's another example of just how much of a moron george w bush is. he says internetS instead of internet. seriously. here's a quote from the man himself: "I hear on the internets that we're going to have a draft" !!!! this is the most powerful man in the world for crying out loud. oh and he calls google, "THE google". oh mama does the stupidity never stop flowing from this man? for your reading pleasure, here are the top ten stupid bush quotes.

right, now that we've all stopped laughing, let's examine the difference between 1st and 3rd world countries. i know this may seem stupid but bear with me. the president of iraq...considering he's a PRESIDENT of a COUNTRY, one would think that his press conferences would take place in some part of his residence or in a clean, probably airconditioned office somewhere rite? that's the images we're all used to when we see bush, or blair or lee hsien loong talking to the press. well at least you wouldnt expect houseflies. rite? WRONG! the Iraqi president was giving a press conference recently and this housefly just kept buzzing around him and landing on his cheek and head and ear and he kept swatting it away. can ANYONE imagine lee kuan yew swatting a fly? he'd kill the maintainence guy of the building he's in before swatting the fly probably. i'm sorry, i just found this whole thing pretty odd and funny. a president swatting a fly on international tv.

today in the newspaper i read an article about one of Australia's top Muslim clerics, comparing women who don't wear veils to uncovered meat, basically implying that muslim women who don't veil are inviting rape.yeah i'll pause a minute to let you all regain conciousness. occasionally somebody in this world says something so stupid that you just stop short. this is one of them. is he forgetting the number of women in Muslim countries who DO wear the veil that are raped(by their own husbands sometimes), killed, forced into child marriages, subjected to honour crimes or generally mistreated every single day? i hate men. they say the dumbest shit sometimes.

in other not so important news, madonna has adopted a child from Malawi. somehow CNN and BBC thinks this is big news just cos some NGOs and child welfare organisations in Malawi are protesting that Madonna cut corners during the adoption process. CMON!! the child will be leading an infinitely better life in london with madonna than in an orpahange in Malawi! just let it be!! and to make things worse, it's headline news everywhere!! when CNN aired the segment i decided it was time to switch over to BBC in the hopes of seeing something a bit more important. lo and behold, the same Madonna crap was being played on BBC. it was then that i decided to turn off the tv. what a waste of airtime.

there are earthquakes in australia and snowstorms in colorado(where daddy dearest is!!). can mother nature GET any freakier?? not likely.
